training for trainers

With ten years experience as a trainer, Helen has a wealth of experience, tips and ideas that she is keen to share with other would-be trainers. There are two ways of organising Training for Trainers.

1. generic training for trainers

Topics covered would include:

  • Group work theory and skills
  • Creating a learning environment
  • Making presentations
  • Leading training exercises
  • Facilitation skills

2. subject-specific training for trainers

The topics mentioned above would be covered but there would be a particular emphasis on a particular context, subject or issue. For example, supporting a group of staff to design an in-house induction course and then offering customised training to staff who wished to deliver that course.

Helen has recently developed a manual for trainers who wish to support service users to build skills for being involved in recruiting staff. (See Articles & Publications section for more details.)
